I love being able to work from anywhere, which allows me to travel and see beautiful spots of the world. Today was spent at King Ludwigs castle in Fussen, Germany. If this looks familiar, its the castle that Walt Disney used for Cinderellas Castle at Disneyland. As the story goes, King Ludwig spent the Bavarian fortune to build this castle. In the late 1880s, after nearly 20 years of construction, and when he was only 40 years old, he was declared insane and was removed as king. At that time he was over 14million francs in debt. A few days after being removed as king, he and his personal physician were found dead from suspicious circumstances; allegedly from drowning in a few feet of water at a nearby lake. Hmmmmm. Regardless of whether he was actually insane or was a great visionary, I greatly admire the results of his effort- his beautiful, storybook castle.
