I love him to bits but just for fun. And Im going to be completely honest. For anyone who has time to read my small essay and observe my pictures Oskah, 15 hand(measured) gelding is 4 years old with 7 months under saddle with me. He is an absolute pleasure to own, super gentle and friendly, wants to be caught. Has a very strong can do attitude and puts in 110% no matter where he is or what the task is. If I was riding him blind folded I wouldnt know whether I was using a halter or bridle because he is so responsive and quiet. Super soft aids moves off the leg straight away, side passes fluently on both sides and is on the verge of cracking spins. He had a smooth trot and canter and has a good easy seat stop. Comes down onto the bit, is a dream at pony club, takes everything in his stride, self loads and unloads with absolutely no fuss what so ever. Easy to ride in a dressage competition taking a ribbon home on his first day. He is a keen jumper but is still learning and Ive been taking it easy with the jumping. Has been to a nav ride and is good in traffic and in large groups of horses, dogs, motorbikes, tractors, children, scare guns, other horse floats, flags, wind, rain, hail. He has no separation issues so I can take him out on a job around sheep or cattle big or small mobs and he will be completely focused and switched on, he loves stock work more than anything and is quick on his feet. Has good ground work skills, ponies off another horse or will be the lead horse(prefers lead). I can ride him around 500 acre paddocks at a steady lope without any problems. And can ride him through water and channels no problem. Easy to worm, inject (vaccinated for tetanus and strangles) and wash(being palomino my OCD kicks in so hes very used to it) is a very good doer with low maintenance good feet. Is not pushy. He is happy to go along slowly on a loose rein but is far too switched on and smart for a trail horse, he will get bored of just trekking along roads all day but wont complain. Does not kick, bolt, bite but will occasionally have a little baby pigroot due to his youth and having spirit, this had phased out as he has gained more ridden work but will also be getting his back looked at just incase because he doesnt do it out of anger or to remove a rider. I have never fallen off this horse and I am not a rodeo or wild horse rider. Doesnt require constant work, a quick 5 minute join up/lunge session is enough if he is out of work. Can we handled by anyone no worries and respective of space, however being young, sensitive and forward would not recommend him to an inexperienced rider. I am aiming to continue giving him the stock work and compete in as many horse trials and CTs this year, getting going with jumping especially because I believe his no shy attitude will make him good for XC.
