I love it when people who go on and on about how self reliant and independent and anti-socialist they are, how much that loathe all that oppressive government interference .... then you find out that theyre on Medicare, or Medicaid, theyre the first in line for unemployment and other benefits, student loans, grants, the GI Bill, and farm Subsidies To Pull Themselves Up By Her Own Bootstraps. I suppose its preferable to just take your chances and get on charity care if you have to go to the hospital, and people (like me) have their insurance companies bill you six thousand dollars for a couple hours in the Emergency Room to make up for what YOU didnt pay. Listen... we are ALL in this together, we rise and fall together, and there is no Uncle Sugar. What there is, is a community and a civilization. In civilizations, people help one another and spread the costs over the whole group to make it easier for individuals. I lived under European socialism for years. It was quite civilized, and YES you paid taxes but you got something in return. People who complain and gripe about how their tax money went for others have themselves benefitted from the system. There was less to really fret and worry about, which gave you the time and mental space to accomplish other things and innovate great new ideas (like getting most of Germany--DARK DREARY GERMANY!--onto a solar energy system. Stuff like that.) You can always move to a right to work state in the USA and see how you like it... lol... oh but remember: those tend to be the Red States. And the Red States take the MOST in government subsidies and social programs!!! LOL omg ... Humanity: gotta love it. After you finish shaking it by the shoulders a bit.
