I love joining the anti-Jamie mob with the rest of the Fans on race day, but there is no denying he is a great, if not the best V8 supercar driver. My question is why didnt he go further? Yes hes a big fish in the Australian Motorsport pond, but why not try and break on to the world stage? World Touring Car Championship, World Endurance Championship, heck he won the Australian Formula Ford Championship, why not have a crack in a European Formula series! He has definitely chiseled his name into the Australian record books but I cant help think he could have been so much more, or still could be. Imagine an all Australian assault at LeMans with the likes of Ricciardo, Webber and Whincup! As a publicity stunt, it would be a massive event to spark the imagination of the Australian Motorsport community! It would provide a great opportunity for Australian companies to break out into the world, and likewise attract international sponsors to our beloved V8 supercars and other national level categories. It would enforce the message to young Australian racers, that their careers are not limited to tin tops!
