I love learning about ayurvedic medicine! it has really inspired me to start some new healthy trends. what I love most about it is that its not a diet or a fad... its a lifestyle! one that reflects what our natural life cycles should be, whether its eating or exercising or our sleep patterns! the top three things Ive learned so far are: 1. stress is our number one problem! learning to let go of stress is the best way to start a healthy lifestyle. 2. eat with the seasons, the way God designed! certain foods are in season which means they are the most available and the cheapest! plus, these are the foods that will benefit our bodies the most in that certain season. 3. eat three meals a day, no snacking or small meals throughout the day. the body needs time to digest and fast between meals, for optimal digestion we have to let our bodies rest. lunch should be the biggest meal, breakfast is the second biggest, and dinner should be the smallest and the lightest meal.
