I love learning about my heritage. My grandmothers family came to the United States from Sweden after converting to Mormonism. Although I have other heritage as well, it is Swedish that was part of my growing up with my grandmas Swedish meatballs and pancakes, learning to say a Swedish prayer, stories of Sweden, etc. The Dec 2014 Ensign (LDS magazine) has an article on the Mormon church in Sweden (page 46) and it talks about Vastra Vingaker, the town where almost all my Swedish ancestors came from! Maybe boring to most but very cool to me. I think we are definitely connected in real ways to those who came before us. Thank you to my awesome cousin (and friend) Pam Stephenson who found this article. media.ldscdn.org/pdf/magazines/ensign-december-2014/2014-12-00-ensign-eng.pdf media.ldscdn.org media.ldscdn.org
