I love our church, and I loved the previous church, and the church - TopicsExpress

I love our church, and I loved the previous church, and the church before that.. I loved the pastors and the congregations.. I have good memories of the church in which I went to the alter as a teen.. I remember the preacher preaching to me, just to me.. I love the sharing of worship and the fellowship with fellow believers.. I love to hear good pastors preach, I love to hear songs of worship and I admire good talented singers.. I love to hear soulful humble prayer.. but do I have to attend church to have church.. no I dont... church is in the heart.. I have church everywhere.. everywhere I open my heart to the Holy Spirit and let myself feel, hear and see the Lord.. so, would I be happy that everyone attend a physical church, a place of congregational worship and bible study.. you bet... but do I believe folk have to attend church to be saved.. do I believe saved folk have to be baptized.. do I believe one has to be Baptist, or Methodist, or Presbyterian, or Lutheran or Catholic or a member of any specific denomination.. no I dont.. not really.. Do I believe folk need to hear about Christ, need to read about Christ.. yes I do.. in their homes, at their schools, at their workplace, at their places of recreation, on their electronic devices, from their family, from their neighbors, from you and me, and from the churches and in the churches.. I believe that we are the Lords church and that we ought to be more concerned about helping others find their way to the Lord than we are as to what denominational physical church they should attend.. or which translation of the bible they read.. I believe our example as believers, the way we live our lives, the love and concern we show for others, all others, the little kindnesses we share, the encouraging words we speak, the faith we show, the prayers we pray.. the peace we enjoy, all work to show folk what church really is... what Jesus is about and what a life as a Christian can be.. We wont ever be perfect but when we all start doing more of that..we will be blessed, folk will start seeking the Lord, souls will be saved and our physical churches will be filled to overflowing.. Amen...
