I love producing a show that offers LIVE VOCAL entertainment. Originally I wanted Instant Karma Cabaret to be a show featuring mostly singing female impersonators. However, after meeting a lot of prejudice and odd opinions concerning ruining the illusion with male vocals I quickly adapted. Although Im sad that people arent willing to share their God given talents for fear that they might ruin their illusion I am comforted in knowing that people like RuPaul have ruined their illusion all the way to the bank. I am also very glad that it caused me to step outside of my comfort zone and book EXTRAORDINARILY talented people who ARENT female illusionists. I am able to book Landon Duane, a phenomenal male vocalist, on a regular basis. Ive been introduced to Bethica Song who is in two of my upcoming shows and will be a regularly booked female vocalist. And Im also featuring amazing amateur vocalists like Alexia Lynn Garcia who is ONE TO WATCH! Of course this post would not be complete without mentioning my right hand singing queen Jessica Leigh Foster (James Dunse) who has braved any criticism and unabashedly opened his mouth, in drag, to sing at every IKC since our maiden voyage.
