I love the East Bay. A lot of innocent people are getting hurt tonight, and plenty of the people and institutions that are guilty for creating systemic suffering wont feel the sting at all. The broken glass will be swept away, the garbage will be gathered up, and the fires put out. If the banks dont open on Monday, they will on Tuesday. However, theres another day coming. Somehow, I know the long nights like these will end and we will find a better way than all this. Its like the forest fire that causes conifer cones to release seeds; what comes next has a chance at growing something that will sustain the forest.
