I love the fall! Love the cooler air, the turning colors of the leaves, the kids in school and the approaching holiday season. Ive always thought that the year should start in September. For the past several years Ive done a 30 day gratitude post in November, where I post something different every day that Im grateful for. This fall season didnt start out so great for me and Ive had a hard time remembering that Im alive, Im human, Im healing and I really do have a lot to be grateful for. The have nots kicked my ass and gratitude just wasnt a place I wanted to be. I kept praying for the ability to forgive, have tolerance, patience and love and just move forward. Somehow gratitude crept in and I spent the day reflecting on the things in my life I am grateful for. I have a God in my life that loves me even when Im unlovable. Im sober and have several 24 hours of continuous sobriety. My kids like me and listen to me and respect me. They are healthy, happy and doing great in school and sports. They are loving, funny, compassionate humans that are growing up way to fast. I have friends that have been there for me through the hard times and loved me when I didnt love myself. I have a job that allows me to have a house and car and food. I have an amazing vacation coming up for my birthday where I will get to meet new people and see places Ive never seen and do things Ive never done before. Life is pretty darn good when you look at the haves. Im not as good as I want to be, but Im WAY better than I was! God Bless you all!
