I love the game of football. I played it for years. The coaches, the challenges, and my teammates had a major impact on who I am today. I grew up a HUGE NFL football fan and Redskins fan. Ive been to countless games in many cities and a couple of Super Bowls. Ive played tons of football games with and without pads. I played 3 games in one night just last week. But, something is going horribly awry. In my mid-20s, I nearly stopped watching pro football because of the glorified stories of greedy owners, poor behavior by players, obnoxious narcissism, long-term medical issues, stories of criminal activity, sensationalized entertainment, too much money in advertisements, too many edits in instant replays, etc... Last year, I finally got cable again because Red Zone was created. I could watch games without all the noise. But now, the noise of atrocious behavior by players off the field is permeating throughout the news, smart phones and coffee shops. Its happening more in the NCAA. I love the game of football. There are a lot of players and coaches to respect. The atrocious behavior by a few is compromising the integrity of the sport. Id rather throw a football than watch games. Who wants to throw a ball around on Sunday?
