I love the late 70s, early 80s Ibanez Artists, which were made in Japan. These guitars can still hold their own up against modern instruments. They did have an odd bridge though... The white Ibanez pictured has its original Gibraltar bridge, which is threaded into a cast base, which is inlaid in the guitars top. The second picture shows you the original base as well as a new one that I had to have made out of brass. The new one was made for another Artist, which had a sunburst finish. The new base was required in order to install a modern bridge. The owner wanted a Tone-Pros tune-o-matic bridge, but the post spacing, diameter and thread was completely different, so off to the machine shop I went to have another custom part made.
