I love the lights I hate the work! John 3:19-20 And the - TopicsExpress

I love the lights I hate the work! John 3:19-20 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. I was driving through my neighborhood admiring the Christmas lights on the homes. I told my son Jordan, I love the lights but I hate putting them up and taking them down! It would be great if I could enjoy the beauty of the lights without the work it takes to put them on my house. I think thats how a lot of people feel about Jesus. They love the light that is a reflection of Gods Glory but they hate the work that comes as a result of accepting the gift. You cant do anything to earn Gods gift of salvation. Jesus gave his life as a gift. However faith without works is dead. Jesus is the light of the world. When he comes into our lives he makes things beautiful and his light exposes whats ugly in our lives. People love the light but hate the work they have to do when the light exposes their sin. The thing about it is that the work is easy with Jesus. Its harder to hide in the dark than it is to do your work in the light. The illusion is that we look better in the dark. In actuality we feel better in the light. 1. Come out of the dark so that Jesus can shine on you. Ephesians 5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 2. Wake up from your slumber. Ephesians 5:14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light 3. Read Gods word to light up your life. Psalm 119:105 your word is a light for my feet and a lamp for my path. Dear God, Thank you for adorning my spiritual house with the most wonderful light this Christmas season. Jesus is the light of the world and hes shining in my life. The work I had to do was minimal. Compared to the work Jesus did on the cross when he hung, bled, and died for my sins. The best part is that he got up from the grave with all power in his hands. Now I can walk in the light, the beautiful light that shines all around me by day and by night. I love you and I thank you for the light! In Jesus Name, Amen
