I love the music of Doc Watson and so did Cal. When he was a baby, he was bounced on many a knee at the Lucy Opry in Lucy TN. So, he developed a love of the old mountain players and singers. Later, when we lived in Asheville, NC we would take our family to Johnson City to hear Doc & Merle Watson at the Down Home Country Kitchen. Merle died in 1985, and it was quite a blow to Doc. Later her created the Merle Fest annual Bluegrass festival in memory of his son, Merle. Here is a video of Docs last performance at Merle Fest in 2012. https://youtube/watch?v=CvyXBPaC89c
