I love the profession of Economics, it opens ones analytical abilities hence whenever an economic decision has been made, it means even the counter negative consequence was taken into account. However what mater is the margainal benefit and marginal cost of the impact. I beliv the Minister of Finance knew the current economic status and standing of mining firms. His decision was not political bt an incentive that would benefit the economy in the longrun. I knw one can argue that mines are making super normal profits, bt twe depend on data presented in financial statements and our asumptions may not hod witout evidence...we nid mineral royalty aswel and we need the mining firms to stay as they provide employment. lets not assume that there a lot of mining firms willing to invest in Zambia.*via opinion*
