I love this Land. As a Pagan, the Land, the Waters, the Forests are sacred to me.As a storyteller, I share the mythology of the Land, as a singer and writer of poetry, I draw on my love of the Land and my energetic connection with it. As an activist, I stand for the Land and the people who live on it and have their being here.. I am steeped in Irishness, I love and use the language, I love our music and dance. But if you start defining Irish Identity by who we keep out or exclude.. Then count me out. !!! We are who we are after wave upon wave of invasion and immigration as other parts of the world are what they are because Irish emigrants are part of the tapestry of that place. The Gods and Heroes of our ancient mythology, the Tuatha de Danaan arrived in a magical cloud.. Before them the Fomorii and after them the Milesians came from outside. Immigrants in other words.Leabhar Gabhala na h Eireann, the Book of Invasions tells their stories through the eyes of Tuan McCaireall who over many lifetimes observed all that happened and for whom It named one of my sons. Our nation is continuing to evolve with each wave of immigration. Anyone preaching against immigration should understand where we came from. Unfriendly me immediately if you think keeping Ireland Irish means shutting people out!!! Sickened by the rise of racism in this beautiful Land.
