I love this kid. If you all could begin to understand his story. He was born very premature and they were sure he wouldnt make it. He had bilateral retinal detachment, and his doctor was able to partially reconnect one. He is legally blind. Zeb can essentially see out of one eye the equivalent of the end of a ballpoint pen. But he insists on reading in spite of also having to do homework in Braille. Of course, his eye grows tired quickly, but he pushes on. He has a therapist who has worked with him for years to teach him how to read Braille and work with a cane. Zeb uses the cane as a prop when he is pretending to be Zorro or a pirate. This kid is EVERYTHING I ever wish I could be in this world. He is hilarious. SO hilarious. He has a memory that would embarrass Rainman. For example: during a recent shopping trip, Zeb MEMORIZED the FULL brand/model code of a certain television. (For those of you who dont know, this is typically a combo of #s and letters, and measures the length in cm of the entire US). Once Zeb got home, he contacted EVERY AT&T Store within the continental United States inquiring about the features of this particular model. Each store apparently obliged. Zeb then ordered @ 20 extra remotes for the t.v. (now, what was the person on the other end of the phone thinking???). Nonethless, it was another case of Zeb - 1; AT&T - 0). To this day, Zeb can tell you where the AT&T store is located in any city throughout the US, to include their mailing address and phone number. I LOVE this child with all of my being, and it just kills me that he is growing older with each passing day. My life has been Beyond Blessed just with Zeb being in it; I am one lucky girl. AND for his future wife (may God Bless her soul....shell have his mom, Grandmother, aunt, cousins...and Ms. Paige to go through), she will be the most fortunate woman to ever grace this earth. He is the funniest, most polite, and down-to-earth young man who shouldve never been. But here he is! And he is not going anywhere. God had/has bigger plans!
