I love this nation dearly, despite the many internal political nuances and conflicts that frustrate me. 13 years ago today, this nation suffered its most tragic attack since the great wars. Political extremists (under the guise if religious zealotry) attacked America and everything she stands for. In the process, thousands died. I remember that day clearly. Sitting in school, trying to make sense of what we were seeing on the news. When I finally figured out what was happening, I knew that I was going to do my part to ensure it never happened again. So while this is one of the most tragic days in our nations history- its also the anniversary of when I decided to become an American soldier. Let us never forget.
