Randy Rhoads, and Eddie Van Halen. Everybody else who shreds just sound like a bad interpretation of one of them. Or like Ritchie Blackmore at 78 speed. So guitar worshippers who use the word shred on a regular basis are not really interested in music so much, as they are in the skill and technique used to perform it. and it goes all the way into the hardware, as it did in the hardheads that worked at both the guitar companies I worked for. Not all of them of coarse, I liked a lot of them, but if your life went from listening to Eruption to scolding somebody for leaving a fingerprint on a guitar, what in the hell is wrong with you?
