I love this video because it shows how much John loved New York. And I think, on this anniversary of his death, it should be noted that New York also really loved John. He lived there for nearly all of the last 10 years of his life and frequently walked the streets of the upper west side without incident. In the film Imagine there are some great shots of him strolling through Central Park and having some fun with fans not long before his death. The lunatic who killed him was not a New Yorker. He flew there from Hawaii filled with madness and robbed us of a great talent. These clips, from around 1975, are how I like to remember John and New York:
