I love this wonderfully subversive video from the madmen of Rammstein, Germanys most subversive rock band, satirizing how American pop culture, fast food (Buddhist monks chowing down on Burger King Whoppers), technology (doesnt EVERYONE everywhere have an iPhone now?), and movies have subverted traditional cultures. Yes, the U.S. is a wholly owned subsidiary of China, since we shipped all our manufacturing over there and mortgaged our grandchildrens futures by borrowing trillions from them we can never pay back. But I defy you to find any country on earth where you wont see Coca-Cola signs, and McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and the rest of our junk food and junk culture have made deep, permanent inroads, like a sort of cultural ebola outbreak. Oh, and an American did invent Facebook, one of my favorite addictions, and a favorite of hundreds of millions everywhere. So am I proud or horrified at this fact? Both, I suppose.
