I love to see how God chooses to answer prayers, His ways are so much better than ours. My heart was heavy today and I was not in a good place emotionally. Eli had a rough night and we didnt get any sleep. So I wasnt in a good frame of mind, not feeling very thankful. Then I received a message this morning from my dear friend Amanda. She and her precious Molly were on the way to childrens for an appt. Eli and I decided to go for a drive and visit them on the walkway between the hospital and office bldg. as we were chatting and the kiddos were playing we met a beautiful family that are missionaries from South Africa. Their story made me snap back to reality and realize how incredibly blessed we are. It brought me out of my funk to see my sweet friend and know Im not alone. She truly gets our journey, as she too has a medically fragile miracle baby. While I was in the pits on my way down to see them, on the way back to Elis room I was soaring above the storm and ready to face the next challenge. As Eli and I got off the elevator we ran into Elis nurse, Cody. He asked how I would feel about possibly going home. Since we basically have everything at home to run a small ICU we can handle Elis needs from there. Also we are only 15min from the hospital, should we need to return. So in a matter of 1/2hour God changed my pattern of thinking and I am now in the frame of mind to be thankful again. Even if something happens and we dont get to leave, I am better armed to handle the day. Thank you God for adjusting my perspective.
