I love to watch the true life stories of people whove fulfilled their promise. The more I watch, the more Im inspired! Life is no crystal staircase for anyone, but people who really have a dream are untouchable by adversity and obstacles. They use what they gain to inch them closer. Theyre stronger because of and in spite of what they went through! This morning I watched some of the story of Randy Moss who had outstanding potential, was favored to go to Notre Dame but he derailed himself and they withdrew his admission. He went to prison on and off during a time he was in high demand. He essentially sabotaged himself but he never stopped working. He could touch the brass ring but it was taken away because he forfeited it by his behavior. He worked hard at Marshall and should have been the number 2 draft pick but no one choose him because of his past. But someone gave him a chance. He didnt go number 1...He was number 27 in the draft. However when he did get his shot in the NFL he played at a level that confounded everyone! He shattered records. He outran the whole defense. He scored whenever the ball was in his hands. I know where he got his superpowers. They were a gift from God. But he honed it while behind prison walls. He defused each denial, disappointment and withhold of its power and he lit himself on fire with his talent. He became like Secretariat! Three of his classmates had the same opportunity. They got their 5 minutes of fame but their light quickly dimmed. You dont know their names. For a while, Randy Moss story was all about his mistakes, being in prison and whether he was worthy of redemption. He never stopped looking for an opening, for a tiny crack to step inside the arena. He accepted responsibility for his mistakes but he wasnt defined by them. He didnt allow anyone to define him. He knew in his heart that the door would open one day and when it did, he would leave a mark that could not be erased. He changed the story. His statistics could not be denied and there was no choice but to make his performance and ability, the story. He put the focus on his positive attributes. He pressed his way through hard times. He never gave up. He wrote a beautiful story with his life. Dont be downhearted about your circumstances whatever they may be. Dont ever lose hope. Its just a chapter in your life, not the whole book! I had tears in my eyes watching his comeback. It was breathtaking to see him run. He ran with wings of an eagle...He was powered from on High! You can change your story because the pen is in your hand. Dont be swayed by where you are right now. Just remember. ..THE LOWER THE LOW, THE HIGHER THE HIGH!!! #getinspired!
