I love what this teacher (below) has to say about the importance of music in our schools and to our lives as humans. When I was in high school and junior high for that matter, music was definitely the one place I felt as if I fit in. Whether with my instruments -- flute and piccolo -- or when I became drum major and student conductor, life became magical and mystical, exhilarating and meaningful. More likely than not, I excelled in math because of it. And most definitely, I became more alive, more human, more intoxicated by life itself.
