I made a right turn to start up the hill to where I park at the gym, when something rustled in the brush right next to me. It was a dog, hit by a car and dying in front of my eyes. The dog glared at me with an intense mixture of wild fear and self-protection. Yet he was becoming so weak that as his eyes bore through me, his neck muscles began to weaken and he began to wobble in slow, concentric circles. I’ve rarely, if ever, seen such a simultaneous display of strength and vulnerability. Life & Death are a reflection of all of our inner realities. Each is profound, and stunning.
