I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. Its been said, Old age is when ones memories replace ones dreams. Life has a way of redirecting ones path. The plans and directions I dreamt of as a young man, have in part been achieved, but for the best part remain on the pillow. We are all the sum total of our choices, but many a circumstance has led us to our present destination. Making the most of a situation is a quality I admire, but recognising ones inherent ability to serve our fellow man during the journey,is of immense value. Being preoccupied with ones own goals is in its simplest form, selfish. Personal goals are of great value, but being needed is the language of community. I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
