I may not necessarily share all the views of Toni Kan expressed in this write up. I have always known him, from his days in Kano to his stint as a humor writer in the soft sell magazine, HINTS, eventually becoming its editor and published writer, winning international acclaim, Toni is someone that will keep you laughing so hard until your ribs ache. But then this is serious stuff from a humour writer. A guys gotta write what hes gotta write. The choice is: To be a full fledged democracy or a half educated quasi democracy. Never forgetting the rule of law with an independent judiciary. Whats the point in shugabaing anybody, or leveling Odi, then the following morning, the Courts declare the action,ultra vires,null and void, with hefty damages awarded against the Government, and a hint of a possible charge at the International Criminal Court for genocide? It is not too late for IBB, Abdulsalami ,OBJ to face their day in Court for Dele Giwa, Abiola, Kudirat, Zaki Biam, Odi etc. It is not enough to be an unrefined military brute. Day of judgment must surely come.
