I may ruffle some feathers.... but doesnt this teaching of ISKON (a Hindu organisation) remind you of some other non-Hindu religious teachings? asat-sanga-tyaga,—ei vaisnava-acara ’stri-sangi’—eka asadhu, ‘krsnabhakta’ ara (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila 22.87) “A Vaisnava should always avoid the association of ordinary people. Common people are very much materially attached, especially to women. Vaisnavas should also avoid the company of those who are not devotees of Lord Krsna.” How are we any different? Im ordinary, Im a woman and I am materially attached- of course, I want good things in life and would want to do better for myself. To live in this world and to live together with other human beings, to go through the difficulties of life, to make a home, to build a family, to serve others and to serve ourselves, is far more difficult than the escapist act of running to a cave or the mountains and hiding because the world gets too much to handle. And to say that women are the root cause of trouble...? Besides, If I were to make a sizable donation to any of these organisations, will they refuse the money BECAUSE I am a woman?
