I meant to share this the other day when it happened. My co worker came to work with this lil boy behind her. She tells me she found him as she was coming out the train. Apparently he was somehow separated from his father. The kid was 10yrs old, spoke English fairly well and was very shy. I offered him my computer to play math games (always educating) while we waited for the police to arrive. Being a mom (& child of cops) I found out which school he attended and called to get the dads number. Thankfully I was given the dads cell and we were able to immediately reunite the two. My only issue is the 10yr old boy knew NOTHING; not mommys number, not daddys number, not titi Olga number, not even Abuelas number...nothing!! PEOPLE teach your kids the BASICS!!! My kids know our numbers, their address, cross streets, the guy in the bodega on the corners name, the train stop by our home....distinct things that will get them back to my loving arms. If your kid can sing the words to the songs on the radio they better had damn well know a phone number or address to a safe place!!! KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE, ITS YOUR DUTY!
