I meet people everyday who are ashamed to tell where they come - TopicsExpress

I meet people everyday who are ashamed to tell where they come from. For me, people have always said i am either a Fante or a Ga. Ahhh, you dont look like an Ewe, and you cant be an Ewe! Nonsense! i am privileged to be an EWE man - from the Volta Region, Adaklu Kodiabe to be precise. Point of correction. I am not from Ho. I am from Adaklu. And nobody can intimidate me to say otherwise. Daily, i do meet young Ewe people who pretend to be from other tribes. Hmmm. Every tribe is unique. For example, i understand and can speak almost all the major languages in Ghana - which i know most Ewes can also do. But how many citizens from other tribes can even understand a phrase from another language? Hey, my Ewe people, be proud of your heritage. No more hiding. My traditional Ewe name is DOTSE - because i am the second after twins. And i am proud of that. My day name should be KWADZO - Not Kojo. And i am proud of that too. We are about to record a song in Ewe, the critics have said Ewe is not a popular language so we should translate the song into Twi or English. My answer is: NO! Ewe is what we know and Ewe is what we will sing! I am an ewe....(not the animal though), and i am excited! Ndii na mi kataa!
