I mentioned this the other day in a speech I gave in Crawley, and I think its important to repeat it here. We as a community need to learn what it means to be just, we need to give credit where credit is due and stop looking for ways to tear people apart when they try and do something positive. This goes from the manner in which some of us treat people who try and be better Muslims during Ramadan, to the manner in which we react to positive actions by public figures. Our way as Muslims is to focus on the positive and to have positive thoughts about one another, and to encourage people who are trying to do good to do better. The Prophet, Divine Exaltations and Salutations of Peace Immaculate be upon him and his family, warned women who forgot all the good things their husbands did for them because of one mistake, and warned men not to hate their wives because of a single quality of hers that they might dislike, because she possesses ninety nine other characteristics that please them. When a man asked the Prophet, Divine Exaltations and Salutations of Peace Immaculate be upon him and his family, to curse a man who was repeatedly caught drunk in public and punished, the Prophet, Divine Exaltations and Salutations of Peace Immaculate be upon him, responded by saying: Do not aid the Devil against your brother, indeed he loves Allah and His Messenger. Focus on the positives, encourage people in the good, we are all sinners, and none of us in the position to pass judgment on individuals. Yes we must forbid the evil too, but we need to have wisdom in how that is done. Attacking people when they do good works is not in any way wise.
