I messaged Joe Schmit, Channel 5 Sportscaster, yesterday. He presented an inspiring speech at our MCEA conference. It was about people who make impacts, silent impacts, on those around them. The entire time I thought of our friend, Keating DuGarm. My message is first and Joes reply is beneath it. You recently spoke at the Community Ed conference. Your words, sincerity, story telling left so many of us inspired. I lost a colleague and dear friend last week. He dedicated his life to helping special needs students. He was the perfect example of someone who defined silent impact. Your words helped heal my heart from the intense sadness I have been feeling. Thank you for all you do for the community.
