I messaged a friend last night. As we were communicating, I shared some personal things with her that I felt had been controlling my life. She told me that I did not need conviction from her but rather I needed it from God. I knew that what she was saying was true, but I also knew that there was a reason for why I felt compelled to share with her. As our communication continued she told me that we needed to be suited up every day, and to be ready at all times. As I pondered on her words, I began to realize that we do get suited up every day. However, are we being suited up with the attire that the Lord has laid out for us? I pray that I am the only one who has been guilty of putting on the wrong attire. A wardrobe of anxiety, confusion, condemnation, self-pity, this is not suiting up it is rather dressing down. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:11 that we are to put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. What is the whole armor of God? Ephesians 6:14-17 says that the whole armor of God is: having our loins girt about with truth, the breastplate of righteousness; our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; and above all, our shield of faith, our helmet of salvation, and our sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Anything less than that, or more than that, is not suiting up. Thank you Dear Friend for delivering this message to me so that I can receive it and share it with others that needed to hear it too.
