I met Imam Jamil many times in the late 80s and early 90s. He was (at that time) a quiet and gentle man, focused very much on piety and leading a good life. It was almost impossible to believe he had been the fiery H. Rap Brown. I have always found his for killing a police officer years later to be suspicious. I urge everyone to add their voice to the chorus demanding that he receive treatment for cancer that was diagnosed after months of illness going ignored. Results of diagnositc tests taken last month reveal that Imam Jamil is suffering from multiple myeloma (cancer of the plasma cells).
