I met Robin Williams when I was 15. He brought his sons to be seen by the pediatrician I worked for in Truckee, CA, numerous times. RW had a home at a nearby ski resort, so it was common to see him at McDonalds ordering hamburgers for him and his kids. I remember the first time he came into the DR office. He was SPARKLING! His personality was so great! He took time to talk to all the women working in the office; I played it cool, but others were hysterical with joy! When I told my parents, they thought it was awesome too, and then all kinds of stories of when they knew him on the Pier in SF before he was famous. I remember getting his insurance documents and instead of the usual: Cigna Health, Blue Cross, etc, he had SAG!!! I just remember thinking he was the coolest, nicest celeb, and that if I ever hit the big time, Id TRY to be as gracious and nice as he was, even when he had a sick kid with him. I hope his kids have lots of support now. What a sad time...
