I miss our dear Sister Tayyibah Taylor and am holding her dearly - TopicsExpress

I miss our dear Sister Tayyibah Taylor and am holding her dearly in my heart and in my consciousness- where shes been since the day we met. In spite of the sadness I mostly feel very encouraged. She lived a full life and a great life full of adventure, kindness, love, intelligence and creativity. She was feminine, she was beautiful, she was radiant, she was elegant, witty and on and on. She was so encouraging to me and so many others and paved a way for us. I am and we are a part of her legacy. She was a phenomenal woman. May she Rest In Peace Allah blessed us to know and love her. Reading the many posts abt Sis Tayyibah reminds me of how The Sahaba felt about Prophet Muhammed PBUH- they always felt so loved by and blessed by him that they thought they were his favorite. Thats what its like when a person has an incredibly generous spirit and remarkably good character. I felt loved by her & Im so grateful that. Some of my most dear and memorable moments with sister Tayyibah: The first time we met when she was visiting NY and staying at NIsa Alis home. Nisa had a get together so that her friends could all meet this amazing woman. I automatically felt honored to be in her presence. As the night wound down and our convo continued she asked what I was up to and I mentioned that I had a business plan competition presentation that week. One thing led to the next and sister Tayyibah asked me to read to her what I had prepared so far. As gracious as she is she helped me complete the presentation that night and taught me a lot about writing and oration in just one night.... as she laid down in Im about to sleep mode and I sat across from her catching rubies and diamonds as they dropped out of her mouth. It turned into a sleepover for me too because um, 1. It got late lol and 2. When someone is really wise and wanting to share their wisdom with me I take it! We stayed friends- OF COURSE! Another great memory is a time when she was en route to Ghana to visit her son. She told me she had a layover in New York so I decided to go see her. I wasnt driving at the time so I jumped on 2 busses to go to the airport, sit with her and buy her dinner. We sat and talked for a few hours just about her life and her journey and my life and my journey. She was so proud and enthusiastic about what so many Muslims in America are doing, she was so positive and vibrant, very kind, wise and loving and she very much had a LIFE! Its funny because all this time I thought sister Tayyibah was in her late 40s and early 50s while I knew her (I certainly didnt ask her age... no need and u know- etiquette). Its very rare to meet a woman in her 50s and 60s and even 40s who smiles often, radiates positivity and constantly has plans for a vibrant future. Being in the presence of Sister Tayyibah was like being in the presence of a queen. Id like to think that she is still alive with us. Her spirit lives on and so does her lifes work- most notably the beautifully crafted Azizah Magazine. She taught us what its like to have remarkably good character and be vibrant. Im praying for her to have a beautiful station in Jennah. I feel she has helped to make the world a better place and has left a beautiful legacy- something that we were all benefitting from. #TayyibahTaylor #LOVE #RIP
