I missed seeing Eternal Return in action on the playa, but it was up and running at Ghost Ship. For those unfamiliar with Peter Hudsons work (or this particular piece), its a giant human-powered stroboscopic zoetrope. In this case, a circle of people using rowing machines at the base cause the sculptures above to spin. When everyone gets it going at the right speed, the strobe lights start to fire at just the right moment, creating the illusion of a moving sculpture. Think of it as a big giant physical animated gif :-)
