I missed yesterday; We left Beaune and headed north through Paris to Bayeux, France (Normandy.) We had horrific rains in Paris and needed to transfer from one train station to another. The subway was packed with Friday afternoon traffic. We were so stuffed into the subway that Erins feet werent even on the ground! Then the subway stopped & the announcer said it would be stopped for 45 minutes. We could possibly miss our connecting train! So we went up to the streets where I (finally) hailed a taxi by walking out into the 5 lane road when they were all stopped at a light! In my best French, I told the driver that we were in a hurry-he got us to the other station with time to spare by going up a one-way street the WRONG WAY! We tipped him heavily. The trip to Normandy was very somber and interested.
