I must admit it’s a great feeling when you pick yourself back up - TopicsExpress

I must admit it’s a great feeling when you pick yourself back up after hitting rock bottom and have a chance to reflect on what happened. I am not afraid to admit ive made a poor decisions, they won’t be my last. The fact that I aim to own up to, apologize, and work on fixing my mistakes is what makes me human. How it’s hurtful to think that someone you’ve grown to trust and care about as a friend/respect as a person over the last little while would think it’s perfectly okay to push you down when you had hit your lowest point, instead of trying to help you back up is beyond me. How I genuinely applauded their triumphs, spending hours happily talking and listening to them, and being able to lend my support when they asked me, helped make me a good friend to them. You don’t have to be a friend to show support to someone else, it’s as simple as just being a decent, caring, and empathetic person. I found it in myself to forgive someone when they used some immature and spiteful choices of words in the heat of the moment and chose not hold it against their character because I believed they were, still are, and have the potential to be a good person and friend to me. We’re human. We make mistakes. We have our highs and lows. It’s human nature to make immature or irrational decisions at times. It’s not necessarily the decision that you make that defines your character, but the idea that you’re willing to apologize and learn from your mistakes that make you a wiser and better person. I hold out hope that people can realize these things because I do believe were all inherently good at heart and we can all help each other strive to be the best we can be.
