“I must be dead,” Colonel Ugyen thought. The rattling sound - TopicsExpress

“I must be dead,” Colonel Ugyen thought. The rattling sound of M-16 triggered his soldier’s sense. He was hit. Heavily he crawled to the top of bunker, and, froze. Colonel saw the jet fighters of enemy approaching fast. As the commanding officer of his unit, it was his duty to end that god-damned war. “Bazooka,” he thought, “If I can only reach to that multiple-bazooka, I can bring down all the jets crashing down to earth.” Some jets whirred right above his head, which, instinctively, he shoved by his hand. They missed him. “It is either now or never,” Colonel screamed and ran to bazooka. In pitch darkness, he stumbled upon a dead. Colonel Ugyen woke up, startled. I opened my eyes. My legs ached from hitting the bed post. I rushed to the plug point fixed on the wall and switched the “Mortein” on. It took five minutes for mosquitoes to land on the floor. Colonel Ugyen enjoyed rest of the night sleeping peacefully.
