I must have been exposed to too much sun, or maybe I inhaled too many barbecue fumes, but I don’t remember hearing the results of the barbecue cook-off. I seem to have noticed about 15 lbs of meat, a table full of side items, and coolers full of beverages getting decimated, but the votes never seemed to come in. People were saying things like, “too close to call,” and “I don’t feel comfortable making a decision.” Next year we are bringing in celebrity chef judges instead of people that need to sit in the office with us to make some sort of definitive decision. I was thinking that guy from the Iron Chef, but it doesn’t matter. Just someone with the guts to declare my victory. Cisco did put up maybe his best Tri Tip this year, so next year it looks like I have to take this competition seriously.
