I must say that as a rather silent member of the group, I have found the postings most informative and interesting. I am pleasantly surprised at the number of persons who have taken an interest in this most fascinating part of our local wildlife. In the early 70s whilst at school, I had a business arrangement with the then owner of the Kariba Snake Ranch and would send specimens to him for financial reward. Before doing so, I found it imperative that I learn as much as I could about the creatures and went about it with sustained diligence. The seed sown was enough to give me a life-long interest. Apart from the usual handlers bites from things like Heralds, Eastern Tiger Snakes and other aggressive little snakes, I have only been bitten by a Rhombic Night Adder - my indignity exacerbated by six strokes with a light cane for indulging in this banned pastime! You members seem to have the identification of species pretty well tied up but I hope I can be of some constructive use to the Group at a future stage. Thank you for having me - Tom Fulton.
