I must tell you all that I found the State of the Union address troubling, at best...The entire trhing has become some Broadway show. ( That is not the current administratiions fault entirely, it has been getting worse and worse. reagan was probably one of the worst offenders in that respect. ) It goes way back...I think it was Andrew jackson that refused to deliver the address, because even back then he felt it was out of control. kabuki theatre, and using people as props. Not to mention the blatant lackydom of the members of congress that camped out all day just to get an aisle seat, to have another chance to suck up... What bothered me the most was the chest thumping regarding ending the war. How can a leader speak of ending war without ever mentioning victory? It is simple capitulation and politics. We have not won the war, because the politicians have never let us do what needed to be done to make it so. I fear much of the sacrifice made by so many who served, and their families, will come to be in vainThe young ranger i8s a hero, whether he got wounded on his tenth deployment as the president stated( although, I am not sure his service stripes correspond to that...) or if it happened on the first day of his first deployment. How can he someone stand there and praise the sacrifices and service of those in uniform, while they atr the same time have been stripping away benefits, and using them as pawns in political shutdowns? How many times have we heard those on the left refer to our military as murderers, or even terrorists...Those who serve took an oath to xdefend the Constitution...yet we hear talk of circumventing it with the pen and the phone... That yioung Sergeant First Class is every bit a hero...but it is in spite of the administration...not because of it... People worry about seperation of church and state, how abouit seperation of politics and the military? They, nor the Supreme Court have any place in that political theatre... Okay...enough venting for one day...Carry on...
