I n t e r n a l V a c a n c y - Wits RHI Clinical Trainer (x 5) Main purpose of the job To support clinical capacity building of Department of Health staff in districts supported by Wits RHI. Location RSM – Taung (x 2) DKK – Klerksdorp (x 2) Region F – Johannesburg (x 1) Key performance areas Plan and facilitate quality clinical learning o Work with District Manager and engage with regional training centre to agree on training and schedule appropriate facilitators o Facilitate formal courses according to plan o Assess participant learning during courses o Provide support to the pre service training programme by training and mentoring nurse tutors o Train clinical and non-clinical colleagues on guideline changes and new modules Quality improvement courses o Participate in course reviews o Complete training reports including analysis of participant assessment and evaluation o Work with training department and District Managers to assess effectiveness of training interventions Data management o Manage and co-ordinate all training records for the district Support sustainability o Work with DoH regional training centre to identify potential trainers for NIMART, PICT etc. o Train, assess and mentor potential trainers Required minimum education and training Nursing degree or diploma Valid SA drivers licence Facilitation/education qualification NIMART mentor I n t e r n a l V a c a n c y Professional Body Registration South African Nursing Council Required minimum work experience Minimum of 5 years’ public health sector experience including 2 years’ clinical training experience (HIV/TB/SRH) and 1 year clinical mentoring experience Experience in assessing learners Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities Experience of evaluating training and report writing Qualified assessor Exceptional organisational and administrative skills together with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Ordered and systematic approach to tasks Attention to detail Pro-active, able to exercise discretion and independent decision-making Able to prioritise own work load and work towards deadlines Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Should you be interested in applying for this vacancy, clearly state which vacancy you are applying for and forward your detailed CV to: Sue Van Blerk at [email protected] or fax: 0867102864.
