I name checked Bob Stump in a reply to his Ditko/Roussos thread, and he commented back Randal Hugh Crawford, I like that Bughouse picture you have on your facebook page! Did you draw it? I had considered not posting tis here with only three key ditko characters on it - Spider-Man, Blue Beetle and Scorpion 1 - plus ACs Scarlet Scorpion (their Blue Beetle clone) and multiple iterations of the Spider-Man theme (-Girl, Clone and Symbiote versions.). But it does use a number of Ditko swipes. Tjhe Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider is on a classic Ditko Spidey pose, Spidey is from a Destructor cover, Blue Beetle, Forager and Bug are all from Speedball poses (not all Ditkos, though). And my fave, The Red Bee is a classic Captain Atom pose. Cmon, with that see-through blouse and the red and yellow striped leggings, how could that not be a Ditko character? Bob, to reply to your question, it depends on how liberal your interpretation of drawing is. I downloaded reference pictures of all the characters, then used poses of other characters, decreased the intensity while raising the brightness until they were barely visible, then outlined the figures and costumes in photoshop. another adjustment of brightness to eliminate the original picture all together, :poster edges to darken the remaining lines, then added color and embellishments (inking) with photoshop. Kinda crude but, hey, all done with a mouse. So, drawing? Not in the sense that no hand held pencil touched actual paper. Digital image manipulation? Yeah, that was me. the hard part, really, was actually fitting all 35 characters onto one wallpaper with ALMOST no overlapping. Of course I forgot Queen Bee, Insect Queen, Silver Spider, at least one major Peter Parker costume change plus the 6-armed Spidey and who knows how many others, but for now its done and thats as good as it will get. Though citations of any other characters are welcome.
