I need a personal question answered in regard to IT careers. I hope this isnt innappropriate for the page. I am wondering if helpdesk jobs are a good foot in the door, so to speak, to better IT jobs in the future or if its more of a bottom rung dead end in a field too competitive to start late in the game. Any advice is appreciated, as I have a chance to receive 2 months of free training(with guaranteed job placement at $15/hr when done), but thats 2 months I could possibly be wasting, and that wage isnt *very* good these days. Hoping my fellow geeks can steer me right.
