I need advice! Over a year and a half ago, my daughter was in a car accident. She was in great pain with migraines daily and in horrible shape. A chiropractor we went to see suggested daily treatments to the tune of 6 days a week along with massage therapy for the injury. Problem was, he ate up almost all of the personal injury protection. His visits were well above the normal costs and his massage was, as well. We figured we it would be worth it if it was effective for quicker healing and relief of pain. After over a month of this, we tapered back to 3 times a week and then no more. She ended up having no improvements whatsoever. We were discouraged and basically gave up on chiropractic care. We were then told about this other chiropractor. He sat down with us for a free evaluation and said that he the pain would be eliminated in one or two appointments. If after that the pain is still there, her issues were systemic and not related to misalignment. All this to say that at the end of that one appointment her pain was down to 50% and by the second appointment her pain was gone. Her daily migraines were now only every 3 weeks or so to nothing. Her health issues continue, but most of it is now out of pocket now that regular insurance has been tapped out. This second guy did what he could to help with the problems that were left, but did say that he does not feel he can help any further. I appreciated that and wished that first guy would have said that. I truly believe he would have kept taking our money if we kept going. WE stopped his appointments not him. My question is I am contemplating reporting this first chiropractor. We felt like we were put through a financial ringer with very little left to pay for more necessary expenses related to the her injuries. One problem is he is a high ranking officer of the organization representing chiropractors. I feel that we were wronged and this needs to stop so future patients wont be financially bled by people seeking to take advantage of insurance monies afforded to victims. He may have been well intentioned, but with all we learned, he was overpriced and wasnt effective. What would you do? I need help in knowing what to do, if anything. Btw- I was thinking of filing something with our state attorney general, but not sure.
