I need advice please. I have a rescue that Ive had for about 6ish months maybe 8. (5ish y/o Chi) He is from county and came with a cough. After two weeks of cough treatment he changed none so Dr had him back in and we did blood work and xrays. Positive for Valley fever. He was on meds for that for several months. He now tests negative and is off that drug, In between the positive test and the negative test he developed seizures. He has been on Phenobarbatol for several months now and without the Prednesone which he was put on about a month ago we can not control them. I do not like steroids but it works in that area. The vet allowed me to reduce his dose from 2x a day to once. In the meantime he has lost a whole pound since Dec 10th. He eats well and drinks a lot. Is getting weaker and not as active as he should be. The sparkle in his eye is gone. Has anyone had this happen and what would you do or recommend? He is still actively seeing his vet but Im scared and need more advice. Thank you in advance.
