I need lessons in community motivation, and will happily entertain any advice given here. David Arv Bragi and I discussed this, and I thought Id throw it out to my hundreds of friends, here--somebodys bound to have some ideas. A group can accomplish much more than individuals, and from time to time Ive rounded up people who all agree, yes, between us we could make a pretty effective household/community/business/whatever, counteracting each others deficits with each others talents, pooling our resources, amounting to more than a sum of the parts. HOWEVER, it never gets past the talk point. We can all say, Yeah--wouldnt it be wonderful if we did that! But when I say, Okay, lets do it! I hear nothing but the lonesome wind. And I contribute as much to the silence as anybody. What might you recommend? Where can I learn more? What needs changed?
