“I need some advice. So I’ve been dating my current girlfriend, Lauren, for almost a year. I love Lauren very much, and she’s truly one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Lately though, I’m having some trouble. My ex-girlfriend, Jessica, whom I dated for 3 and 1/2 years in high school, won’t leave me alone. Jessica and I work at the same restaurant together, recently I got promoted to shift leader/staff trainer. I thought maybe my promotion would make her kinda back off since I’m technically her boss now. However, it didn’t work, she still constantly tries to get me to dump Lauren to go back to her. Somehow she got Lauren’s phone number and keeps leaving her voice-mails and text messages, saying how she’s going to steal me back from her and a bunch of other stupid stuff. Lauren knows that I’m not a cheater and that I’m committed to her and only her, but she’s getting fed up. I don’t know what to do. I’ve told her that she has to back off, but she won’t.
